15 Months

Today was Ezekiel's 15 month appointment. It was a good appointment - he is a tall, muscular, healthy, intelligent 15 month old who has fabulous hair. A checkup isn't just about fun and looking into lights - it is also about shots :( Not sure who it is rougher on - him, me, or Marty. Today, Marty had to sit on the examination table and hold E. down. That's rough because E. looks at us like we have just participated in something terrible. He was supposed to have 3 shots, but at the last minute, Marty decided to refuse the flu shot. We had talked to E's dr about mercury in shots (we thought it had been removed from ALL shots) but it is still in the flu vaccine! As Marty said "we can get the shot at any time, but as soon as it is given, we can never take it back. I just won't have my child injected with poison." I was glad he refused; I was on the fence, leaning towards no, but it is so easy to get caught up in listening to what is "right" and what is "not right" from a pediatricitian's perspective.

Anyway, after the doctor's visit, Ezekiel was feeling the shots in a bad way, so I decided to bring him to my Grammy Bea's. Man, was he a ham. I think he thinks that he is the 'one-man-talent-show' that has to amuse everyone in the place. He had my Grammy laughing so hard - harder than I have ever seen her laugh in my life. It was SO nice. Then, Lena, Frank and the girls came home and that was just like an additional audience for him. He would make them laugh and then he would watch himself in the t.v. screen and laugh too.

Gram has two little poodles - Lily and Princess - and Ezekiel thought they were his best friends. He stole Jazmin's snack crackers and he would take them, put them on the floor and share them with the dogs....by eating them off the floor like he was a puppy too. He LOVES eating like a dog/cat. It is one of his absolute favorite things. He also loves to be destructive. Lena has a glass case with wood frames on it - Ezekiel went over to it and ripped the wood out and broke it in half. He is like a little muscle-man.

Well, I'm off to bed - I could sit here and tell Ezekiel stories all night (not all of them are sweet..he's a boy that knows what he wants and he is willing to throw himself and anything else in his reach to the floor to make his point).

Another one of his favorite things to be? Bucket-Boy Matthews.
