Ezekiel the Fruit Bat

Today, Miss Emily came over and spent a great deal of time playing with Ezekiel. He loves her so much. He started saying her name today - En-Me. He'd say "En-Me, 'mere" when he wanted her to "come here". Mostly, I think he got a kick out of the fact that he was bossing around a "big kid" and she was listening. They filled up on chocolate chip cookies, grape juice, watched old Spongebob reruns, took out every single book Ezekiel owns, and tried out every one of his toys at least once.

After Emily left, Ezekiel collapsed into bed for a short nap. When he got up, I explained to him that I had to finish dishes, but while I did them, he could watch a Baby Einstein video. While it was on, I noticed that he was being exceptionally quiet. I snuck into the livingroom to find that he made himself a new seat (practically on top of the t.v.). He doesn't have a toy box so we use a laudry basket as a catch all for his toys....he decided to climb in and make himself comfy (notice the path of destruction around the floor - this was caused by a 4 year old and a 1 year old - amazing, isn't it?):

Tomorrow, I'll paste some cute videos.. which brings me to this: does anyone have any recommendations - other than photobucket - of where to store pics and videos? Photobucket is SO SLOW lately, I just can't stand it anymore (and I'm not willing to pay the fees for an upgraded account)

OK, I'm posting the videos..make sure to notice his leg

A clam chowder kind of night

Tonight, we had tuna-melt sandwiches and clam chowder for dinner. I made Ezekiel a sandwich, but decided to skip the chowder thinking he wouldn't enjoy it. When we sat down to eat, he was interested in what was in my bowl so I gave him a little taste. He loved it..loved it so much, he ate my entire bowl along with his sandwich!

I tried to snap a picture of him after the chowder - he had a little chowder mustache and looked like he was in a milk commercial. However, he recognizes the camera lately and these are the kinds of pictures I end up gettting:

(back of the head anyone? or is he just showing off his flowing locks?)

He did his first "alone" flip-over the other night in bed. It was pretty clever out of it but it shocked his socks off! Then he giggled with glee for about 3 minutes straight. I WISH that I had gotten a video of it.

Here he is (about five minutes ago now) sipping on his milkie. Notice how it gets all down his chin and chest - he does that on purpose...thinking he is super funny.

*sigh* why does my child always look like he is about to get into trouble?
Photobucket

Maybe because he is..always getting into trouble, that is. He has mastered a few animal sounds - kitty cat, doggy, duck, bear, leopard, fish, bunny, and an occasional moo. He has also mastered the "scream like you are a little girl". Enjoy.

And a few more of "crazy hair":

Ezekiel Loves Rage Against the Machine

He loves Guitar Hero III as well but he seriously loves Rage Against the Machine. His dancing is usually more more extreme when he hears them.

Metrosexual Baby?

We went to our favorite fish store today (The Black Shark). We have been going there for years now. The owner - Ronnie - has known Ezekiel since a week after his birth. Every Saturday, we faithfully go and browse his fish...every Saturday, we faithfully go and gossip the fish store gossip with Ronnie and his other regulars. Every Saturday, we refer to Ezekiel by name.

Today, we faithfully went to see if Ronnie has received a new shipment (which he has not). Ronnie says "I do have a bunch of goldfish set up in the large back tanks. I'm sure your LITTLE GIRL would love to have a look". I was (secretly) like 'What, what, what???" but outwardly I was like "yes, Marty, let's go let her have a little looksie at the goldfish". Marty pointed out that maybe Ezekiel's hair is getting a little long...and he does wear fur boots...and a fur collar on his jacket. I just think that E. is hip before his time! And the Frenchman can't see. Plus, I love his pretty little goldilocks (Ezekiels. The Frenchman is bald.)

So Marty also pointed out that lately our little guy is always naked. I pointed out that so are we. Sometimes, I think that our little family would do much better in, say, a commune. We could commune with others like us.

We have introduced disco to Ezekiel. (although I'm having difficulty finding my Pure Disco CD 1.. ahem..Beckie?). Here he is dancing to My Sharona. I know, My Sharona is more power pop than disco..but it was the late 70s...

Ezekiel is learning to climb on EVERYTHING. If it isn't climbable, he stacks things to make it climbable. Here he is testing out the wipies box (he fell a few times trying this one out).

He knows he is doing naughty:

Ezekiel hates bed. He is just like his daddy - his mommy loves sleep, so this causes a few disputes. Sometimes, he just pushes himself until he passes out. Here he is passed out next to Daddy (it is probably close to 1am in this picture):

We decided to take away his afternoon nap to see if it would make a difference in his bedtime. Instead, he put himself to bed:

Here he is earlier today...I don't think he looks a bit like a girl!

Visit with Grammy

Mommy and Ezekiel got to spend a little time with Grammy the other day and Ezekiel managed to con Grammy into giving him a bath. Out came the cameras to capture the bath time moment :)

Marty and I got new cell phones!! I snapped this one of Ezekiel just a couple of days ago:

Ezekiel is still teething big time so he is really fussy and kind of down in the dumps. It wears his mommy out almost as much as it wears him out!

He made his first fashion choice the other day - a very snazzy pair of bright orange Crocs. They are still quite a bit too big - hopefully he still likes them by the time they fit his little feet.

His favorite words this week are "uh-oh" and "Wow...wow...wow". He also heard an infant crying in the supermarket the other day, so he tries to mimic the cry constantly. I mean..really..constantly. My mom heard it for about 3 hours straight the other day and she actually called him the dreaded "B" word (..brat..). hehe.
